The Arc-Dane County Board of Directors believes that guardianship, if needed, should be tailored to the individual. Many questions about guardianship have come from members and people in the community. The board presents this web page as one of our efforts to serve our community.

The Board maintains a list of attorneys in Dane County that are skilled in guardianship and estate planning for people with developmental disabilities. (on the right side of this page)

We are happy to host the Dane County Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about guardianship for people with developmental disabilities. The FAQ was developed by a work group of professionals, parents and attorneys in our county.

We frequently seek discussion, dialog, discourse and debate about the topic of guardianship. Check out the position paper written by People First of Wisconsin and let us know your thoughts.

Attorney Referral List

The Arc-Dane County has researched the names that appear on the list below. We find that the attorneys make efforts to remain updated in the area of guardianship and estate planning on behalf of persons with developmental disabilities. We would appreciate information on your experiences with the attorneys on our list.
